Hello Guys.....
In the past few months i have repeatedly seen various tweets and Instagram post, hilarious ones i should add. I laughed so hard and when i was compiling resources for this post.....i laughed even harder.....all these publications on "YORUBA BOYS"
I decided to write on it and believe me, all i will tell me are my own real life experiences.....well mostly, apart from the loads of tweets and IG posts i will add....you need to read these stuffs people have been saying about YORUBA BOYS and please scroll all the way down after you are done so you can share your opinion.
I am YORUBA, name is ADEOLA....my twitter and Instagram handles is @adeola_ajala
Kindly follow.
I have experienced mostly Yoruba Culture all my life and one thing always stands out for me and that is the fact that Yoruba people really take family seriously....from jointly raising children to mass attendance of any form of family function....they rally round eachother. Infact they pickup serious fights with family members that dont show up for family functions.
I noticed The YORUBA BOYS effect for the 1st time during my NYSC in 2008. I was posted to Rivers, in Camp....just after 3 days...one of my friends, Femi kept blabbing about a babe that likes him...we all wanted to see the babe. When we did, she was something, no doubt about that and was a PH babe....and crazy about Femi. I had to ask him....Dude , what does she like about you when i finally had the chance to talk to him as they were always hanging out all over NOWA GBAM TAI ....
Femi just simply said.... 'because i am a Yoruba boy oooo' wahlai' I was shocked....just because you are Yoruba....
Fast forward to when we were done at the camp....we got an hotel....myself, Dotun and i think Uzo....Femi had a free house....the PH girl took him home. We took a strool about 12 AM (Mid -night) to the junction and there standing elegantly fresh and super light skinned were the 'Red Light District Ladies....
they approached us thinning out in our direction, moving fast yet swaying their hips sensually to sell their market before they sell their market.
Uzo had to change his name to Segun because of what happened next. The one that came to me said "hey, tall black boy...what is you name naaa" Dotun said with a touch of whisper ....."let's play along...I told her Adeola.....im a corper....ah ah, a Yoruba Corper.... gesturing to the others...."this one go take good care of me ooo..... Guy, for you 500N for the whole night.......Uzo screamed cos the girl with her was like you be our people .... regular price ooo, and it was same for Dotun.....his encounter was just like mine..
We laughed....left the ladies to buy Suya....and they where shouting at us.....Yoruba Boys.... we still dey here oooo if you change your mind....
The peak of this Yoruba boys thing happened when i went to a church the following Sunday.....Uzo is now Segun...lol and as 1stimers, we were called out..because we were corp members, they had to ask where we were from .....KWARA we said....the pastor said....wow, Yoruba Men in our midst....Single sisters in the house.....PRAISE THE LOOOOOOORRRRDDDDD, and the Halleluyah response was digitall sorround sysstem...thinking about it now......it was like a response with the Halleluyah chporus.
Now this is no joke.....One of was escorted home by a lovely lady from that service.....i mean all the way home. When she left.... the report was....she heard Yoruba men are very nice and Romantic and they take good care of Women....then i just submitted to the higher Yoruba Calling.....its in our nature to be the most ROMANTIC, LOVING AND CARING MEN YOU CAN EVER FIND.
There is no arguing it....
