Bill to establish North-East Development Commission passes second reading

A bill seeking to legalize the establishment of the North East Development Commission passed the 2nd reading stage at the House of Representatives on Tuesday.

The envisaged commission is to among other responsibilities “receive & manage funds from allocations from the Federation Account & international donors for the settlement, rehabilitation & reconstruction of roads, houses & business premises of victims of insurgency.”
